SUDINSKY RESIDENCE
Palm Springs, California / present

The Sudinsky residence is a new 3,500 SF residence slated for construction in 2006. The concept revolves two pavilion-like structures, connected through a trellis in the first-story roof. The main pavilion features a wide open floor plan living area that opens into a pool area with extended roof overhang. The master suite occupies the entire 2nd story of the main pavilion, resting on the back half of the first story.

The second pavilion is broken up into private guest quarters and a wholly separate recreation room adjacent to the pool area.

The entire home is clad in a burnt-orange, European cement siding, ideally suited for the intense desert sun. The panels are zero-maintenance, and retain their color perfectly over time. Louvers of the same material provide passive shading over window areas.
