This layout of this 12-unit condominium project was dictated by the lot size and orientation. The plan was organized to place the corridor/access balcony on the west so as to provide a buffer against the harsh afternoon valley sun. The access balcony is wrapped with a wood screen that provides additional shade and privacy while still maintaining a visual connection to the outside. The screen livens up the access balcony with a shifting pattern of shadows that makes for an interesting space.
