Bronze and Black House Wins TAC World Design Award 2025

SPF:architects: Winner of The Architecture Community's World Design Awards 2025 with Bronze and Black House.

"The Bronze and Black House connects the ends of two hillside cul de sac streets with a north running straight line [spine] set the plan and site diagram. The two story main house and the single studio/guest house lie offset from each other along the spine creating access from both ends of the site for convenience, fire fighting access and potential ease of evacuation. The studio/guest house is a rectangular box set flatly on the ground while the main house’s mass floats on a set of columns and shear walls that contain a single open space with living, dining, kitchen and family room components. Significant amounts of exterior space surround all programmatic components to capture 360 degree views and enhance outdoor living. Anodized bronze aluminum slats skin the buildings while smooth black aluminum panels accentuate the openings. Landscape elements including the pool follow the site diagram providing a cohesive experience..."
